Fantastic family meal at The Red Lion. We were 4 adults and 2 kids—steaks and burgers were spot on, Guinness was perfect. Vicky the landlady and Nicky in the kitchen nailed the fried onions. Steph and Charlotte behind the bar were friendly and fast. Great atmosphere, great food, great team. We’ll definitely be back!
Very disappointed and let down on the one day I brought my parents, sister, nieces and uncle – especially after I'd been telling them how good it was. I ordered via the app. Starters arrived first, but the drinks didn’t show up until 15 minutes later. Then we had to wait 45 minutes for the mains. We didn’t bother ordering pudding – we ended up going to McDonald’s for a McFlurry instead. It’s a real shame, as the service has always been good in the past hence why I giving five stars. That said, the one waitress who seemed to be the only staff member working front of house was lovely – she smiled throughout, even though she was clearly rushed off her feet.
3 stars for Atmosphere but that's because I was the only one in at just gone 17:00 Called in for food while working in the area and a very nice home made shepherd's pie and vegetables. Followed with a pint of lemonade. Will I visit again, yes, if you're into home cooked good food suggest you do as well.

We came in yesterday for lunch and were really impressed. We've been visiting the Red Lion for over 20 years and have seen many different owners, but the last few visits since the new owners have truly stood out. The staff were so friendly, and we were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady called Steph, who quickly got us seated. The menu was varied, and everyone's meals arrived quickly and we're piping hot. All the food was delicious but the chicken burgers were especially tasty. Compliments to the chef!! The waiter (Gareth) and waitress were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend and will be back soon!
Highly recommend, been coming here with family and children for the last 6 years. Always lovely welcoming staff members who go above and beyond, nothing is ever too much to ask. Food is tasty and any adjustments you need are catered for. We’ve had large family gatherings, family dinners, birthdays, and drinks. Pool table in the bar area, toy machines for the children and large garden with tables, huts and umbrellas for the summer. TVs in the bar and restaurant area for sports events, restaurant space away from tvs also. Christmas dinners and karaoke nights. Lovely family friendly atmosphere. They also have a large carpark! Can not fault them at all. Regular discounts emailed through sizzling pubs too which is a bonus! Thank you
Great food and very reasonably priced. Staff are happy and friendly. The service at the bar was fast and they were more than happy to put the football match on that i requested. Our server was incredibly attentive and made me and my family feel very welcome!
I came in here on Wednesday evening and the desserts were spectacular. We were served by two lovely ladies called Leah and Steph, both were so friendly and welcoming, despite us not having a booking. The environment was so lovely, both staff and other customers, overall an amazing place for both food and company. Steph made an extra effort to make sure we had everything we needed, and was super smiley
